It is often considered as the best career that is out there. When you hold the power of a pen, you can write anything you want. You can create any character and bring it to life. But behind all of these beautiful stories, there comes a time when you cannot write anything. Because writers get some kind of writer’s block in which they cannot write or think of anything inspirational.
Apart from this gorgeous screenwriting career there are sometimes when this career can drain you. You can avoid that if you follow these simple steps.
Fear of rejection
Whatever you are making or creating there is always room for rejection. Because all human beings and their thoughts are completely different. So if you are submitting your work then you should keep in mind that the producers or the directors are going to reject it too.
Sometimes when you submit your screenplay and then months pass. You get unable to hear anything from the producer which means that the screenplay over the script is not accepted by anyone. It can really drain you and your motivation really drops. Because the director is not only rejecting your work he is also rejecting your thoughts and your inner voice.
Rewriting
After writing a script which was first a draft it still needs polishing. You have to write from every character’s perspective. And the notes in the confusion according to each character should be there in the script.
Which means that it is a long process of writing and rewriting all the stuff that you just created. If you are in the cycle of writing something then it is necessary that you proofread and rewrite again and again. Which can be really tiring for you.
Industrial pressure
It is really hard to make your mark within the industry. There are many writers out there who have the passion and the talent, but they are still not accepted. Not because of their lack of talent, but because of their lack of connections.
If you need your debut in the industry then it is necessary that you gain some really good connections within the industry.
Apart from all of these obstacles, you can still reclaim your place and make your own space where you are accepted and loved. Which means that you create a space where all of the other writers are also included.
In that group, you can share ideas and polish your ideas from each other’s point of view. It is good that you write with gaps. Do not tire yourself by writing 24 seven.
Do not just keep your celebration for the acceptance of the script. You should celebrate when you finish writing a certain script or when you are able to submit that script. Even the smallest encouragement counts.
